Somerville Grocery Store To Close As Sales Dwindle

BFresh Market, a popular small chain of grocery stores in Somerville, said it would shutter one of its locations.

The chain posted on its website that the 244 Elm Street location would close on Oct. 12 at 6 p.m.

Stop & Shop has made the difficult decision to close our bfresh store located at 244 Elm Street in Somerville. The store will close on October 12th at 6:00pm.Our Stop & Shop stores on 779 McGrath Highway and 105 Alewife Brook Parkway in Somerville will continue to welcome local customers, or customers can shop online for home delivery at stopandshop.com.

MassLive reported that a BFresh spokesperson said the location's poor sales played a factor in why the company decided to shutter that location.
